Road Train Driver Arrested After Gawler Crash

A road train driver was arrested after crashing into parked cars at Gawler Belt last night.

Emergency services were called to Murray Street, Gawler at 10pm on Friday 27 December by reports a road train had collided with several posts, causing a verandah to collapse, and then two parked cars near the intersection of Commercial Lane.

The road train did not stop at the scene.

Police tracked down the truck at Sedan and arrested the truck driver.

The 57-year-old Western Australian man was charged with drive without due care, speed dangerous and fail to stop at the scene of a crash.

He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday.
