Roadside Dining Game Changer This Summer

Hospitality businesses in the Malvern, East Malvern, Glen Iris and Kooyong areas are now able to offer their customers a roadside dining option. This addition will help to attract more customers and provide an additional dining option for those who enjoy the atmosphere of eating outdoors.

With the summer approaching, and reports that confirm that roadside dining increases exposure, foot traffic and patronage, it's the perfect time to start preparing for this additional dining experience.

Stonnington's Roadside Dining Program provides exclusive use of a car space converted into a roadside dining area. The space is established at the front or side of the property and can also include a neighbouring property.

Establishing a roadside dining area, whether temporary or permanent, is a great way for businesses to create an identifiable and intimate environment using recognisable design elements. Businesses can now tailor their roadside dining space without being bound to structures previously temporarily provided by City of Stonnington.

There are two options to consider – a six-month roadside dining permit to take advantage of the summer period, or an annual permit to offer roadside dining all year round.
