Robbery And Deprivation Of Liberty Charges, Wondunna

Three teenagers have been arrested after a 13-year-old boy was allegedly assaulted and had property stolen in Hervey Bay on Monday, October 28.

Around 2.30pm, the boys, who were known to each other, met at a Wondunna address where it is alleged a mobile phone and a small quantity of cash was stolen from the 13-year-old boy.

During the incident, the boy was also allegedly assaulted and subsequently transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

One of the teenage boys allegedly filmed the incident and that video was posted to social media.

Police attended the scene and the Maryborough Child Protection Investigation Unit immediately began a proactive investigation and arrested two boys yesterday, October 29, and a third boy this morning, October 30.

A 15-year-old Kawungan boy has been charged with one count each of armed robbery and deprivation of liberty. He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear in the Hervey Bay Childrens Court on November 4.

A 15-year-old Point Vernon boy has been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

A second 15-year-old Point Vernon boy has been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
