Robbery Probe: Man Injured in Bankstown Incident

An investigation is underway following a reported robbery in Bankstown last night.

About 7.10pm (Thursday 10 April 2025), emergency services were called to Canterbury Road, Bankstown, following reports of an armed robbery.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attended and approached a man outside a building. When the man failed to follow police direction, a Taser was discharged.

The man fell to the ground injured, and officers assisted the man prior to the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics.

He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

A second man was located injured within a building nearby. He was also taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A 44-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Bankstown Police Station.

A crime scene was established and a number of items were seized for forensic examination.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.
