Detectives from Rockhampton Criminal Investigation Branch have closed down an operation targeting the suspected trafficking of illicit drugs and stolen property.
Operation Uniform Rigel began in August last year and identified a number of people allegedly involved in the supply and trafficking of methylamphetamine in Rockhampton, Emu Park and Yeppoon.
The closure saw four people charged with 114 drug-related offences, including one count each of trafficking dangerous drugs.
Drugs with a street value in excess of $2 million were seized and included almost 3kg of methylamphetamine and 2.5 litres of gamma hydroxybutyric acid, as a result of Operation Uniform Rigel.
During the investigation police also seized motorbikes and an ATV believed to have been stolen from a rural property near Duaringa.
All of those charged will appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court over the next two months.
Detective Acting Inspector Luke Peachey said with the syndicate shut down, the drug trade in the greater Rockhampton area had been significantly disrupted.
"We made a commitment to our community to address drug supply issues and the closure of this operation is testament to our officers and the community as a whole working together to remove dangerous drugs from the streets," Detective Acting Inspector Peachey said.
"We work in operations in efforts to disrupt these activities and we will continue to pursue and prosecute offenders who choose crime as a business model.
"If you are engaging in these types of activity, we will find you and prosecute you."
A 34-year-old Frenchville man was charged with one count of trafficking, 78 counts of supplying dangerous drugs, three counts of possession of dangerous drugs and two counts of being in possession of property suspected of being from proceeds of crime.
A 27-year-old Rural View man was charged with one count of trafficking, two counts of possessing dangerous drugs and 20 counts of supplying dangerous drugs.
