Rockliff cannot explain where he will find $750 million for stadium

Tasmanian Labor

Premier Jeremy Rockliff cannot explain how his government will come up with the $750 million to pay for the proposed floating sports stadium in Hobart.

The Premier today was unable to explain where the money will come from, despite his predecessor Peter Gutwein saying in March:

"We will seek to fund this across all levels of government, as well as providing an opportunity for private sector involvement and equity raising."

Surely the new Premier should be able to answer fundamental, straight-forward questions about taxpayer expenditure for this major proposal by his government.

Today, the Premier has shown once again that the Rockliff-Ferguson Government is a rehash of the same old secretive government Tasmanians have unfortunately come to expect from the Liberal Party.

This is a divided, chaotic government - a government that Tasmanians did not vote for - presided over by weak leadership.
