Queensland Manufacturing Minister Glenn Butcher today inspected the capabilities of Rockhampton-based business, All Industries Group, where he announced registrations were open for the annual Inside Advanced Manufacturing event, as part of the Miles Government's Manufacturing Month.
Leading advanced manufacturers from across Queensland will open their doors from 2 to 13 September to showcase advanced industry technologies. The state-wide Inside Advance Manufacturing event is just one more way the Miles Government is supporting Queensland manufactures to be globally competitive.
This year the event will feature 21 leading manufacturers and 10 industry innovators, across 16 locations, from the Gold Coast to Cairns.
Manufacturers will host guests on a behind-the-scenes, guided tour of their industry-leading facilities for the chance to see firsthand cutting-edge equipment and learn from advanced manufacturing processes.
All Industries Group will showcase during the two-week long event, welcoming participants to tour their heavy industry fabrication and machining workshop. The business will demonstrate how a complete technology overhaul transformed their operations, including increased capabilities which supported 5 new jobs after installing a flat steel drilling and profile machine thanks to a more than $312,000 Manufacturing Hubs Grant.
Students will also have the opportunity to explore careers in the industry with almost 40 exclusive school-only tours to inspire the next generation of manufacturers.
The Miles Government is committed to supporting the state's manufacturing industry, which is a major contributor to jobs and the economy. By recognising that manufacturers operate in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment, more opportunities to learn about leading technologies can be created.
As stated by Minister for Manufacturing, Glenn Butcher:
"Inside Advanced Manufacturing celebrates the best of our industry across the state, showcasing the innovations that are helping businesses thrive and cementing Queensland's reputation as a manufacturing powerhouse.
"The Miles Government delivers support to manufacturers in every region of this state and it's fantastic to see many of these businesses opening their doors to help others understand how they too can transform their business through advanced manufacturing.
"While Labor is supporting manufacturers, the local LNP member, Michelle Landry is talking down jobs in our region.
"The hypocrisy knows no end when the federal LNP drove car manufacturing offshore, and Campbell Newman and David Crisafulli sent Queensland's trains to be made in India."
As stated by Member for Keppel, Brittany Lauga:
"All Industries Group is a prime example of a manufacturer taking advantage of Government support to take their business to the next level.
"We've built back a manufacturing industry in Queensland that was in decline under the LNP. Manufacturers in Queensland simply can't trust the LNP to provide the support they need."

"Only Labor can be trusted to deliver jobs and support for manufacturers.
"The LNP when in government, cut industry support programs, which resulted in thousands of job losses, and they will do it again."
