Rose Cup returns to Bingara

Gwydir Shire Council

The Dave Rose Cup made its way back to Bingara after 24 players visited Warialda Golf Course to take on their lads on Sunday. Warialda presented a lovely bit of weather on the day and the course was tough but in good condition for a round of friendly but competitive golf. D Smith of Warialda had a great 38 points to win the day, whilst Dave Brown hi a fantastic 36 points for Bingara.

After consulting the records, it now stands with both clubs holding the trophy four times each since the Cup's inception in 2014.

Bingara started the day with a 3.8 point lead and Warialda were out to give Bingara a lesson. Warialda won the day but only by 2.8 points, allowing Bingara to win by just 1 point. A great result on all fronts.

Of the 24 who travelled from Bingara, 12 were regular Sunday golfers and 12 were Thursday hackers. The hackers were victorious over their Sunday counterparts by 13 points. This was celebrated by Magoo and Slim quite boisterously.

Next week is the Monthly Medal on 21 November and coming up after this there will be a Single Stableford on November 28. Don't forget to book in Barneys Day on your calendar.

Thursday's chook run is a 2:00pm for 2:30pm kick-off.

Happy Golfing,

Tex
