Schools can now apply for grants of up to $25,000 to create better-equipped learning environments and help students get back on track after disruptions caused by COVID.
Government and non-government schools are eligible to apply for funding for small-scale projects as part of the Australian Government's Schools Upgrade Fund.
School communities can receive financial support to upgrade air ventilation, which may include purchasing air purifiers or air conditioning, build or improve outdoor learning spaces, purchase tablets and laptops, and refurbish classrooms.
Educational infrastructure helps support better student outcomes, including attendance, attainment and behaviour.
COVID-19 highlighted the importance of air quality and ventilation in our schools, as well as the benefits of outdoor learning spaces and the need to provide equitable access to flexible learning for students.
The Albanese Government has committed $32 million to this first round of grants.
Schools can apply for funding at www.education.gov.au/schools-upgrade-fund.
Schools with the greatest need will be prioritised.
Applications close Friday, 24 February 2023.
