Round 9 Grants Open to Boost Visitor Experiences

Department of Tourism and Hospitality Enhance the Territory's visitor experiences with round 9 grants now open

Tourism operators across the Northern Territory have another opportunity to develop new products and enhance visitor experiences, with round 9 of the Tourism NT Visitor Experience Enhancement Program (VEEP) now open.

The program, designed to support the expansion and enhancement of tourism offerings, has been instrumental in delivering significant improvements to visitor experiences across the NT. This round introduces new funding streams dedicated to military heritage tourism offerings and new product development, in addition to the enhancement of existing experiences.

Suzana Bishop, Chief Executive Officer for the Department of Tourism and Hospitality said the grants continue to play a vital role in strengthening the NT's tourism industry.

"The Northern Territory offers world-class tourism experiences, and we are committed to supporting businesses in growing and enhancing their offerings."

"The Visitor Experience Enhancement Program funding will help ensure more choice of tourism product for visitors while also promoting access to unique and high-quality experiences across the Territory," Mrs Bishop said.

Successful recipients from round 8 demonstrate the impact of the program with the Arltunga Bush Pub in Alice Springs having received $93,000 to enhance its visitor experience through the installation of a swimming pool, glass pool fencing, landscaping and a gold rush inspired mural.

Other successful round 8 projects here included:

Crab Claw Island Resort: Enhance the bathroom block including new fixtures, improving water efficiency and constructing a new children's playground ($94,000)Noonamah Tourist Park: Construction of two self-contained cabins ($100,000)Dundee Beach Tavern: Alfresco outdoor dining area ($34,750)Autopia Tours: Red Centre safari camp works ($78,000)

Round 9 of the grant program provides a total funding pool of $3 million across three streams:

New Product and Experience Development - $1 million funding pool, for grants up to $150,000, with a 25% co-contribution. Military Heritage Tourism hereOfferings - $1 million funding pool, for grants up to $80,000, with a 50% co-contribution.Upgrading and Enhancing Existing Offerings - $1 million funding pool, for grants of up to $80,000, with a 50% co-contribution.

Applications opened on 1 April 2025 and close on 1 May 2025, with successful projects to be advised by 15 June 2025.

All projects must be completed by 30 April 2026 or earlier as specified in the funding agreement.
