Round one of Rockhampton Regional Council's 2023/24 Community Assistance Program (CAP) is closing 3 July 2023.
Communities and Heritage Councillor Drew Wickerson said now is the last chance for local groups and organisations who are planning an initiative, activity, or program to submit an application that will contribute to our community.
"Council has already provided sponsorship to 56 initiatives and events totalling $226,365 across its eight Funding Schemes during the 2022/23 financial year," Cr Wickerson said.
"This program continues to support numerous community groups every year through financial assistance and now is the last chance for local not-for-profit organisations to put forward innovative ideas and exciting events that contribute to the growth and development of our region.
"If you're part of a community group who could use a little financial assistance, or if you have an idea you're trying to get up and running, we want to hear from you.
"There are a number of funding schemes under CAP that Council offer assistance to including community event sponsorships for multi-year events, regional events and local events, the environmental sustainability program, community development grants, and insurance support.
"This entire program is about helping local groups achieve their goals so our community can have exciting activities and opportunities to immersive themselves in.
"Whether it is new equipment for sporting groups, venue hire, events, sustainability projects and much more – there are plenty of opportunities for community organisations to benefit from this program."
The 2023/24 Round 1 Community Assistance Program closes on Monday 3 July 2023.
