Council is excited to announce the 15 successful recipients of round one of the Community Grants program, supporting not-for-profit community organisations, groups, projects, events and exhibitions that strengthen Campaspe's vibrant and dynamic region.
Mayor, Cr Rob Amos said it's wonderful to see community groups making use of the opportunity to upgrade equipment and develop initiatives within their organisation.
"We are excited to be able to help fund so many wonderful ideas and initiatives across the shire and look forward to seeing the results of each application.
"Thank you to everyone who took the time to submit a grant application, we appreciate the effort that goes into each submission. The grants that were awarded in round one includes:
- Gunbower Tennis Club. $4,000 to assist with the installation of four light poles, to light up the courts.
- Echuca Neighbourhood House. $4,000 to help develop an emergency flood relief service in Echuca.
- Northern Standardbred Rising Group. $4,000 to purchase showjumping equipment for members to practice at rallies.
- Boys to the Bush. $4,000 to help with the installation of five raised garden beds.
- Rushworth & District Historical and Preservation Society. $4,000 to assist with the preservation of the Rushworth Court House as a community hub.
- Rochester & District Pony Club. $4,000 to purchase ground spirals and support cross country jumps.
- Leitchville Gunbower Cricket Club. $1,984 to replace artificial turf on the cricket nets at Gunbower Recreation Reserve.
- Echuca Moama Squash Club. $2,000 to purchase a defibrillator for both club and community use.
- Echuca Moama Australia Plant Society. $400 to go towards an exhibit of native plants, wildflowers and grassland plants.
- Vic SES Kyabram. $4,000 for a recruitment campaign to encourage new operational and non-operational volunteers across the shire.
- Girgarre Development Group. $3,820 to create seven audio recordings to enhance visitors experience at the Girgarre Soundtrack.
- Rushworth Machinery Preservation Club. $4,000 to preserve the Flower Engine that was used in the turn of the century in Rushworth.
- Rich River Calisthenics. $4,000 to install heating units in the new clubrooms.
- St Augustine's Junior Football Club. $4,000 to install an electronic scoreboard at the Northern Oval in Kyabram.
- Echuca Moama Aero Club. $4,000 to assist with heating and cooling upgrades in the clubrooms.
