Stage 1 of the Rushworth Streetscape works including the footpath and kerb updates on the western side of High Street have been completed this week.
Campaspe Shire Council, Director Infrastructure Kate Lemon said the site fencing in this area has been removed and is open for pedestrian use and car parking.
"It's so exciting to see works progressing on the Rushworth Streetscape project.
"We appreciate the patience and understanding of the community as the works progress, especially those directly affected in Stage 1. In particular, we'd like to acknowledge the cooperation of the businesses including Angie Russi Ceramics, The Second Rose, Motofinish Café and Gus & Ollies Café," Ms Lemon said.
The contractor, Earthworks Civil & Construction is working on the Stage 2 footpath and kerb upgrades on the western side of High Street from Bendigo Bank to the north side of the railway line.
Temporary access paths will continue to be installed through each stage to ensure the relevant sections of High Street, affected shopfronts and residential properties are still accessible.
"There will be limited access to on-street car parking in directly affected work zones. Parking outside of the direct work zones on High Street will remain the same.
"Supplementary car parking has been identified adjacent the railway line on the west side of High Street during critical stages of the redevelopment. We hope this will alleviate concerns about parking during the works and appreciate the community's understanding," Ms Lemon added.
