Goulburn Mulwaree Council is pleased to announce new walking and cycling infrastructure projects, funded through the Australian and NSW Governments' Road Safety Program 2023-24 to 2025-26.

These projects aim to improve road safety and access for pedestrians and cyclists, focusing on vulnerable road users.

The projects include:

  • Goulburn High School – Removal of old pathway and installation of a shared pathway around the school on Goldsmith, Deccan, Clifford and Albert Streets
  • Goulburn Hospital – Removal of old pathway and installation of a shared pathway around the hospital on Albert, Goldsmith, Clifford and Faithful Streets.
  • Victoria Park – Removal of old pathway and installation of a shared path around the park on Clifford, Deccan, Faithful and Verner Street around the edge of Victoria Park

These upgrades will enhance safety, encourage active transport, and improve access for students, hospital visitors, and the community.

Consultation with Goulburn High School and Goulburn Base Hospital commenced in December 2024 and will be ongoing.

Construction is expected to begin in June 2025 and be completed by January 2026, weather permitting.

These projects are being delivered as part of the Australian and NSW Governments' Road Safety Program. The Road Safety Program supports the rollout of road safety treatments that contribute to a reduction in death and serious injury road crashes and provide greater protections for vulnerable road users such as cyclists and pedestrians.
