Safety improvement works will commence soon on Beresford Road, Lilydale, which will see multiple upgrades made to make the road safer to cross for pedestrians and cyclists using the Warburton Rail Trail and Yarra Valley Trail.
The safety upgrades to the area include:
- Removal of the existing pedestrian refuge island
- Installation of pedestrian operated signals
- New line marking and signage
- Improved street lighting
- Advanced warning lights at Clarke St, Lilydale
The first set of preliminary works will be undertaken from January to February 2023, with the pedestrian operated signals to be switched on and operational by April/May 2023.
Preliminary works include underground cabling works, as well as signage and signal boxes.
