The National Catholic Education Commission (NCEC) has appointed Sally Egan to the role of Deputy Director commencing Thursday 28 January 2021.
Executive Director Jacinta Collins, who announced the appointment today, said Sally comes to the NCEC with 30 ye ars' broad -ranging experience across all sectors of schooling, most recently in executive leadership roles within the NSW Department of Education.
"Sally brings a wealth of expertise to National Cath olic Education as an educator, school and system leader a nd consultant," Jacinta said.
"Sally also brings a deep commitment to the Catholic faith and its mission of education, having taught and led in Catholic school communities including St Ignatius' College Riverview and St Cecilia's Catholic Primary School Balgowlah."
"Her work in the areas of school and system reform, data, research and innovation, educational policy.
and governance and accountability, will contribute significantly to our work over the next three -year phase of our national strategic priorities (2021 -2023)," Jacinta said.

Sally Egan has over 30 years experience in K -12 education including senior leadership roles for the NSW Department of Education, most recently as R/Executive Director School Performance and R/Executive Director Centre for Education Statistics and Evaluatio n. She was the Director Improvement Strategy at Pymble Ladies College and Head of Learning and Innovation for St Ignatius' College Riverview.
Prior to 2012, Sally held a number of positions at the Association of Independent Schools NSW over nine years inc luding Assistant Director School Evaluation and Performance and Coordinator of the National Partnership Literacy and Numeracy. She has held various e xecutive roles in both Independent and Catholic schools and has a Masters in Educational Leadership, Bachel or of Education and Diploma Education from Australian Catholic University.
