Samantha Power Talks with Former Sudanese PM Abdalla Hamdok

Today, Administrator Samantha Power spoke with former Sudanese Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok about the ongoing humanitarian and human rights crisis in Sudan. Administrator Power expressed her support on behalf of the U.S. government for the essential role of Sudanese civilians in seeking to end the conflict, deliver emergency care, and develop a political process to restore Sudan's democratic transition and form an inclusive civilian government.

USAID worked closely with Prime Minister Hamdok during his time in office to help the Sudanese people work towards their aspirations for a secure, free, and democratic future. Administrator Power assured Prime Minister Hamdok of the U.S. government's unwavering commitment to support the Sudanese people, at this time of great need and beyond.
