From November 13-15, 2024, Acting Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Lee Satterfield will travel to Colorado Springs, CO, where she will address the 2024 U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Assembly. While there, she will outline opportunities for the United States to engage the world during the mega decade of international sporting events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup, 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, and the 2034 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Salt Lake City.
The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Assembly is an annual meeting hosted by the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) to help further the Olympic and Paralympic movement in the United States. The Department of State partners with USOPC on international policy issues, supporting the Olympic and Paralympic movement globally, and supporting athletes at home.
