Sydney, Australia – Schneider Electric, a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has announced a strategic Employer Workplace Credential (EWC) partnership with Engineers Australia.

The program offers guidance, support and mentoring to eligible Schneider Electric engineers and streamlines the certification process. To date, 70 engineers have attained Chartered status under the EWC program, with a further 30 employees set to complete the program this year.

Recognised globally as a measure of excellence, the Chartered credential is the highest technical achievement for engineering professionals.

To be eligible for the Chartered Engineer credential, professionals must meet and maintain competency across 16 elements related to specific occupational categories and areas of practice. The four core areas include personal commitment, obligation to community, value in the workplace, and technical proficiency.

"Working through the Chartered process takes time and can be seen as a barrier to getting started. However, through the fast-tracked joint program by Engineers Australia and Schneider Electric our engineers were given the support and motivation they needed to reach the Chartered level that they well deserve," said Colette Munro, Pacific Zone President of Schneider Electric.

The partnership demonstrates Schneider Electric's ongoing commitment to developing local engineering talent to achieve positive outcomes for people, clients, and the broader community.

"I would like to congratulate each of the 70 engineers who reached this status. I know they will continue to contribute significantly to the engineering profession in Australia on the many energy management projects in which they are involved," Munro concluded.
