Blue Gum Farms, drumming workshops, a Jurassic Safari and making miniature gardens are all options to keep the kids amused at Toowoomba Regional Libraries during these Spring school holidays.
A variety of exciting activities, story sessions and workshops are planned in all the region's libraries from Monday, September 23 to Friday, October 4.
Toowoomba Regional Council Libraries and Cultural Services Portfolio Leader, Cr Joe Ramia said the Library catered for all tastes and allowed children to learn a new skill or hobby while they were on Spring holidays.
"Libraries are fun and inviting places to be, not only to find great books to read but also to learn new skills, be creative, gather information and have fun," Cr Ramia said.
"This Spring, multi-award-winning children's program, Blue Gum Farm TV will present 'The Outback Boogie' at each of our libraries throughout the region (except Toowoomba City). This fun and interactive show is designed for children as young as 6 months or up to 11 years old and tells a story about life in the Australian bush.
"If you love the rhythm of the drums, then perhaps a Drumming Workshop at Clifton or Pittsworth Libraries are just what your budding percussionist is chasing.
"The medieval thrill of castles, catapults and sieges will draw young adventurers of all ages to the Siege Craft Tournaments at Quinalow and Yarraman Libraries.
"Bookings are essential for a visit to 'Lollipop and Grandad's Back Yard Safari' at the Armitage Centre on Sunday, September 29. This introduction to orchestral music will allow you to visit imaginative lands to discover Chimpan-trees or Hippo-potta-composts while enjoying the sounds of the Toowoomba Concert Orchestra.
"The Toowoomba City Library will be hosting a suite of events to celebrate the 70th Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers. Activities include tours, displays at the library and The Annex as well as the opportunity for your young ones to combine their love of indoor plants with a love of books at one of the Book Planter Workshops.
"Highfields will herald holidays with a host of highlights including a foray into a Jurassic themed green-screen film making experience, miniature garden building, outdoor bushland discoveries, Music and Movement, Storytelling and Baby Rhyme Time: there are activities on offer for all ages!

"At Cecil Plains and Millmerran Libraries, children can build a jungle, while at Oakey it is all about 'Creative Gardening in a pot.
"For any budding scientists, there are junior and senior gaming challenges at Goombungee Library and at Crows Nest Library they have the choice to design a floating robotic raft during the Hydro Sphero STEM challenge.
