School Students Go Behind Scenes At Armidale Regional Airport

Armidale Regional Council

Black Mountain Public School students got a 'behind the scenes' look at Armidale Regional Airport recently.

Airport Manager Angela Garvey gave the excited group of K-2 students a guided tour which included opportunities to ask questions of the airport team at work, and even a chance to 'test' the scales at baggage check-in!

The children were encouraged by teacher Simone Lord to estimate their own weight before being weighed, and then each received a souvenir 'bag tag'.

After meeting staff and learning more about how the airport operates, students watched the Sydney to Armidale flight land and welcomed arrivals with smiles and waves – a well-received surprise for visitors to our region!
