Schools To Receive Maintenance Funding Boost

Tasmanian Government

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is delivering on our commitment to boost funding to schools for general maintenance and site improvements.

Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said $4 million will be distributed to Government schools across the State as part of the School Maintenance and Improvement Fund.

"Through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, we are building on our record investment in education infrastructure," Minister Palmer said.

"Our Government is committed to delivering the facilities our students and teachers deserve, which is why we're investing in upgrading 15 schools across the State as part of our school building blitz.

"The School Maintenance and Improvement Fund is in addition to existing maintenance funding already provided to schools and will help schools undertake repairs and improve school facilities for the benefit of students, providing extra flexibility to address planned an unplanned maintenance needs."

The Tasmanian Government has committed a total of $16 million over four years for the School Improvement Program.

The Fund is part of our $348 million investment in education infrastructure to provide the best possible facilities to help our learners grow and thrive.
