Scooter Fire Damages Bridge At Richmond

Police are investigating a motorcycle fire that damaged a footbridge at Richmond overnight.

Police and fire crews were called to Craig Street, Richmond just after 2am on Friday 8 November.

A scooter appears to have been set alight and pushed into a concrete waterway. The fire then caused significant damage to the wooden footbridge overhead.

Crime scene investigators and CIB detectives will attend the scene this morning.

The scooter has not yet been identified and police would like to hear from anyone who saw a scooter in the area last night.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area or has any dashcam or CCTV footage that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au

The bridge, which is located behind the Cowandilla Primary School, has been closed for safety reasons and the public should avoid the area.
