Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) and police were advised of a scrub fire that started about 3:10pm on Carden Drive near Greenfield Street in Cannington. A short time later around 4:15pm, another fire was reported on Nicholson near Fleetwood Park Road in Lynwood.
About 5:20pm another fire started in bushland at Hester Park on Spencer Road between the intersections of View Avenue and Ellison Drive. The fire quickly spread requiring multiple DFES units, including the firefighting helicopter, to extinguish the fire before it could spread to nearby residences.
Strike Force Vulcan officers are urging anyone with any CCTV, mobile phone or dash-cam vision of the above areas taken between 3pm and 6pm, to upload the vision direct to them via the link:
