The Australian Wooden Boat Festival will soon return for another year, not only showcasing Tasmania's maritime history but also tourism, seafood, trade and leisure.
Minister for Business, Industry and Resources, Eric Abetz, said seafood was part and parcel of Tasmania's world-class brand.
"We are truly spoiled here in Tasmania – our seafood is the envy of the world, and we get to enjoy it all year round right on our doorstep," Minister Abetz said.
"Our seafood industry is an economic and jobs powerhouse – and we're keen to continue supporting its ongoing success through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future.
"Tassie seafood will be front and centre at this year's Wooden Boat Festival.
"Over the four-day festival, Seafood Industry Tasmania's Gotta Love Tassie Seafood marquee will showcase the best of Tasmanian seafood to thousands of visitors through cooking and interactive displays.
"The Wooden Boat Festival is the largest celebration of wooden boats and maritime culture in the Southern Hemisphere and an excellent platform to promote our seafood.
"So put it on your calendar and make sure you get down to the Gotta Love Tassie Seafood marquee this year."
The Tasmanian Government has supported the festival since its inception in 1994 and we are proud to be investing $3.15 million over three years, securing the future of this great event until 2027.
