Search and rescue - Missing man at Mount Isa

A search and rescue operation is currently underway for a missing 74-year-old man, north of Mount Isa.

Raymond Prideaux (pictured below) was last seen at 9.30am this morning at a camp site with friends, located 40 kilometres south of Mount Isa along the Boulia Mount Isa Highway, also known as Diamantina Developmental Road.

The exact camp site was located on the south side of the Galah Creek crossing, approximately 800 meters west from the Boulia Mount Isa Highway.

Raymond was last seen walking in a north-west direction with a bottle of water.

Police are concerned for his welfare as this behaviour is out of character and he suffers from a medical condition.

Police with the assistance of SES have been searching nearby bushland since 2pm (March 3), however have not been able to locate Raymond.

Raymond is described as Caucasian, about 170cm tall, proportionate build with grey hair (balding).

He was last seen wearing jeans, joggers, a hat and a high vis green reflective vest.

Police are appealing for anyone that may have been in the area this afternoon and saw a man walking to contact police.
