Police have launched a search and rescue operation in the Redlands area on Brisbane's southside to locate missing 43-year-old Toowoomba man, Derrick Hearne.
Derrick, pictured, was reported missing on Saturday, October 26, after leaving a Cambooya property on a Harley Davidson motorbike.
The motorbike was located abandoned near bushland along Chelsea Road in Ransome at approximately 2am today, October 27.
A search and rescue operation commenced, with police and State Emergency Services volunteers searching bushland and creek areas in the Redlands.
Family and police hold serious concerns for Derrick's welfare as his disappearance is out of character, and he has a medical condition.
Derrick is described as Caucasian in appearance, with a proportionate build, bald head and several distinctive tattoos.
Police are appealing to any residents within Ransome and surrounding areas in the Redlands to review their CCTV or dashcam footage from the weekend, and to check their properties.
Anyone with information about Derrick's whereabouts is urged to immediately contact Police.
Emergency services will continue the search and rescue operation tomorrow morning, October 28.
