Recruitment has commenced for a new Chief Executive Officer of the Tasmania Environmental Protection Authority (EPA).
Minister for the Environment, Madeleine Ogilvie, said the Tasmanian Government is undertaking a nationwide search to find the candidate best equipped to regulate Tasmania's natural environment.
"From glacially carved valleys to alpine moorlands and ancient rainforests, Tasmania has one of the most unique natural environments in Australia," Minister Ogilvie said.
"The next CEO will deliver stewardship of, and sustainable outcomes for our natural environment, on behalf of Tasmanians.
"Maintaining our quality of life – which includes access to clean air, clean water, and clean land – is an important part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future," Minister Ogilvie said.
Key selection criteria for the role include strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, in either environment management or a role of comparable complexity.
The recruitment process follows the announcement of current CEO, Wes Ford's planned retirement in March 2025.
