A child is missing, presumed dead, following a house fire about 45km north of Lithgow, NSW Police say.
About 8am today (Saturday 14 April 2018), emergency services were called to the Castlereagh Highway, Capertee, following reports a house was on fire.
Two adults and two children escaped the house; they were treated at the scene and taken to hospital.
A third child is not believed to have escaped the building, which has been destroyed.
Police and fire investigators will search the scene once it has been deemed safe.
Officers from Chifley Police District remain on site. The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
