The Northern Territory Police Search and Rescue Team has initiated a search operation along the South Alligator River following the discovery of an unoccupied tinny in the vicinity of the boat ramp.
The discovery, made earlier today, prompted immediate concern as the owner of the boat is currently unaccounted for.
For safety reasons, we ask the public to steer clear of the area as the boat ramp has been temporarily closed.
Local authorities have secured the area to facilitate the search efforts. Equipped with specialised equipment, the Northern Territory Police Search and Rescue Team is conducting a thorough sweep of the South Alligator River.
