A search is to resume this morning for a man who disappeared after jumping into the Nepean River south of Penrith.
Emergency services were called to Nortons Basin at Mulgoa, about 20km south of Penrith, about 11am yesterday (Saturday 16 November 2024), and were told a 68-year-old man jumped into the river to retrieve his fishing rod but didn't resurface.
A search involving officers from Nepean Police Area Command, State Emergency Services' (SES), Fire and Rescue NSW, and NSW Ambulance began, assisted later in the day by Police Divers.
The search was suspended about 5.30pm and will resume about 9am today (Sunday 17 November 2024).
