Secretary of State Marco Rubio met today with Paraguayan President Santiago Peña, a founding member of the President's Middle East Board of Peace and Shield of the Americas, reaffirming the strong bonds and shared commitments that have defined the U.S.-Paraguay strategic partnership over the past 18 months.

The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and the Export-Import Bank's (EXIM) are working to support projects that advance Paraguay's economic growth and U.S. strategic priorities, including the development of advanced digital infrastructure. The two countries are working together to strengthen regional security cooperation and advance trade and investment across multiple sectors of mutual interest.
