Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today. The Secretary and the President affirmed the importance of the U.S.-UAE strategic partnership that includes promoting security and stability in the region. The Secretary expressed a desire for further bilateral cooperation and investment, including in artificial intelligence and frontier technologies.

The Secretary and the President also discussed the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the importance of ensuring that Hamas releases all hostages, including American citizens. The Secretary thanked the President for the UAE's humanitarian assistance to Gaza, and highlighted the imperative of ensuring that Hamas can never rule Gaza or threaten Israel again. They noted their support for the cessation of hostilities in Lebanon.
