A second man has been charged as investigations continue into an alleged stabbing in Sydney's south-west yesterday.
About 3.15pm (Saturday 29 May 2021), emergency services were called to a showground on Smithfield Drive, Prairiewood, following reports a man had been stabbed.
Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and found a 20-year-old man suffering stab wounds to his back and arm.
Police have been told the man was injured during an altercation with three people at the markets.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.
As part of inquiries, detectives arrested and charged a 19-year-old man yesterday. He remains before the courts.
Following further inquiries, a 21-year-old man was arrested at a home on Beemera Street, Fairfield Heights, about 10am today (Sunday 30 May 2021).
He was taken to Fairfield Police Station and charged with reckless grievous bodily harm – in company and affray.
The man was refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court tomorrow (Monday 31 May 2021).
Inquiries are continuing.
