A second man has been charged following investigations into an alleged stabbing during an affray in Sydney's south west which saw two men hospitalised.
Just after midnight on Saturday 22 August 2020, emergency services were called to Canley Vale Road near Derby Street, Canley Heights, after reports of an assault.
Police have been told two groups of men were involved in an affray, during which two men were allegedly stabbed. The group fled the scene prior to police arrival.
A 19-year-old man was treated by paramedics for multiple stab wounds, and a second man, aged 18, suffered bruising and a laceration.
Both were taken to Liverpool Hospital where they were treated.
Detectives from Fairfield City Police Area Command commenced an investigation.
About 12.30pm yesterday (Monday 21 December 2020), detectives stopped a vehicle on Disalvo Place, Cabramatta West, where they arrested a 23-year-old man.
The driver was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with wound with intent to murder, drive while suspended, and possess a prohibited drug.
He was refused bail and will appear in Liverpool Local Court today (Tuesday 22 December 2020)
A 24-year-old Canley Heights man, arrested on 22 August 2020, remains before the courts, charged with two counts of wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, affray, and owner not disclose identity of driver/passenger
