Second man charged with 90 property theft offences - Strike Force Peppin

Officers from Strike Force Peppin have made another significant arrest as they continue their inquiries into large-scale property theft and break-ins across the state's Western Region last year.

A 20-year-old man was yesterday (Wednesday 4 March 2020), arrested at Bathurst Police Station by detectives investigating a number of break and enter offences targeting isolated service stations, clubs, shops, businesses and residential homes.

The targeted areas included Cudal, Molong, Canowindra, Cowra, Cargo, Manildra, Eugowra Wongarbon, Guerie, Perthville and Millthorpe.

The man was charged with 90 offences including stealing motor vehicles and breaking into commercial premises between February and June 2019.

He was refused bail and will appear in Bathurst Local Court today (Thursday 5 March 2020).

This follows the arrest of a 20-year-old man at Orange Police Station on Wednesday 5 February 2020. He appeared in court on Monday 10 February 2020 on 90 charges of property theft and break-ins.

The man was bail refused to appear at Orange Local Court on Monday 6 April 2020.
