Second Person Charged After Kurunjang Death

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a second person today as part of their investigation into the death of a man in Kurunjang last week.

The charges follow an incident in Kurunjang on Friday, 20 December where a man was fatally injured.

Emergency services were called shortly after 7pm to reports of an alleged brawl between a group of people on McBurnie Drive.

An 18-year-old Kurunjang man was treated at the scene however passed away a short time later.

A 22-year-old Harkness man was today arrested and interviewed by detectives.

He has since been charged with murder and will face Melbourne Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

Yesterday, a 15-year-old Harkness boy was charged with murder in relation to the incident and will face a children's court at a later date.

Police will allege the incident was targeted and the people involved were known to each other.

The investigation remains ongoing.
