A second person has been charged over an alleged shooting in the state's south last month.
Strike Force Bettles was formed in September 2024 to investigate after officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District were called to the home on Burns Street, Hillston, 100km north-west of Griffith, about 2.30am on (Friday 20 September 2024).
Police were told a man and two women were in the home when three people allegedly entered the home, one armed with a firearm.
The 46-year-old man was allegedly shot in the abdomen before the three people left.
The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Griffith Hospital. He was airlifted to major metropolitan hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Following inquiries, about 2.25pm on Wednesday (16 October 2024), a 25-year-old woman was arrested after a vehicle stop in Griffith.
She was conveyed to Griffith Police Station and charged with conceal serious indictable offence.
She was refused bail and appeared at Griffith Local Court yesterday (Thursday 17 October 2024), where she was granted conditional bail to reappear at the same court on (Wednesday 23 October 2024).
A 22-year-old man remains before the court charged in relation to the same incident.
Investigations under Strike Force Bettles are continuing.
