Campaspe Shire Council will shortly begin the second stage of works to renew and upgrade the Victoria Park Boat Ramp.
Stage 1 of the project was successfully completed in December 2023, focusing on the renewal of the top section of the boat ramp pavement. Stage 2 is scheduled to begin in the last week of July 2024 and will continue through to November 2024. The works will be carried out over the next few months when the river is at its lowest, and demand for ramp usage is minimal.
The second stage will see the renewal of the wet ramp (bottom of the ramp in the water), adjacent retaining walls, and the installation of the new floating dock and all-abilities walkway ramp.
Mayor Rob Amos said it was great to see the works beginning now that river levels had sufficiently dropped.
"This will be a fantastic improvement to the boat ramp to make it more accessible and inclusive for our community to use.
"Council is committed to providing high-quality recreational facilities for our residents and visitors.
"We thank you for your patience and look forward to unveiling the upgraded Victoria Park Boat Ramp," Mayor Amos added.
During the construction period for the second stage works, the ramp will be temporarily closed to the public for approximately six weeks. There are alternative boat ramps available at Echuca East, Casey Road and Headworks Road (VIC) or at Five Mile Boat ramp in NSW. A map of alternate ramp locations is attached.
