Second Teen Charged After Orange Pursuit Investigation

Police have charged a second teenage boy following an investigation into an alleged pursuit in the state's west earlier this week.

About 7.50am on Wednesday 13 November 2024, officers attached to Central West Police District attempted to stop a vehicle, alleged to have been stolen, travelling on Lone Pine Avenue, Orange.

When the driver allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit was terminated on March Street, due to safety concerns.

A short time later, police received reports that the vehicle had allegedly hit a school bus before driving away.

There were no reports of injuries.

Police patrolled the area and located the vehicle abandoned on Katoa Place, Orange.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested nearby and taken to Orange Police Station and remains before the court.

Following inquiries, about 10.45am on Thursday 14 November 2024, officers attached to the Central West Police District's Proactive Crime Team arrested a 17-year-old boy at a home in Orange.

He was taken to Orange Police Station and charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner and fail to comply digital evidence access order direction.

He was refused bail and appeared before a children's court yesterday (Thursday 14 November 2024), where he was formally refused bail to appear before the same court today (Friday 15 November 2024).

Whilst at the same Orange property, police arrested a 16-year-old boy with outstanding warrants.

He was taken to Orange Police Station and refused bail to appear before a children's court yesterday (Thursday 14 November 2024).
