Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. The Secretary affirmed the United States' continued commitment to bring the conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon to an end. He discussed with the Foreign Minister efforts to secure the release of hostages and establish a path forward that allows Palestinians in Gaza to rebuild their lives and advance governance, security and reconstruction. Secretary Blinken emphasized the need to increase the delivery of humanitarian assistance throughout Gaza and expressed appreciation to the Foreign Minister for Saudi Arabia's efforts to provide aid to Palestinians. On Sudan, the Secretary thanked the Minister for Saudi Arabia's continued leadership on regional efforts to get a ceasefire and stressed the importance of expanding humanitarian access, stopping the fighting, and supporting a political process to form a civilian government. They also discussed shared concerns about regional stability and security.
