Secretary General Attends 4th Int'l Crimea Platform Summit

CoE/Secretary General

"This year, 10 years after the Russian Federation's illegal annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol, the European Court of Human Rights delivered a unanimous judgment, affirming that Russia has committed widespread and systemic human rights violations in the region. These include enforced disappearances, ill-treatment, and unlawful detentions, as well as the suppression of the Ukrainian language, culture, and identity, along with the prosecutions and convictions based on fabricated charges. These, together with discrimination and repression of the Crimean Tatar people, have become the hallmark of the Russian authorities' approach", declared Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić while addressing (online) the 4th Summit of the International Crimea Platform.
