Secretary General Meets Public Defender Of Georgia

Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić has met the Public Defender of Georgia Levan Ioseliani.

The Secretary General recalled her statement on the law "on transparency of foreign influence" and reiterated the importance of the Venice Commission Urgent Opinion in this context.

The Secretary General welcomed the significant contribution of the Public Defender and his Office to the implementation of the Georgia Action Plan (2024-2027). New areas of co-operation related to the protection of human rights in biomedicine and health as well as human rights education were also discussed.

Marija Pejčinović Burić restated the Organisation's availability to assist Georgia to promote Council of Europe values.
