Applications are now open for our free, 12-week, Environmental Champions program.
We'll support you to launch your own sustainability project right here in Stonnington. And you won't be alone. You'll be coming together with a group of like-minded, passionate, locals.
With access to some of the most inspiring environmental leaders in our community, this is your chance to create real change.
Participants will develop a greater understanding of:
- the climate emergency and its impact locally
- leadership and change-making skills
- communicating for behaviour change
- effective project management.
Now in its fourth year, more than 50 community members have graduated from Environmental Champions, launching a range of change-making, local environmental projects; from rewilding groups and nature play initiatives to active travel groups and sustainable business toolkits.
In 2020, a small group of Stonnington locals first had the idea of boosting biodiversity, one nature strip at a time, at an Environmental Champions workshop. Rewilding Stonnington are now an established, successful, change-making group of locals, inspiring others to do the same.
Whether you've got a gem of an idea or you're looking for inspiration, this is your chance to make a real difference within your community, and we'll support you every step of the way. We've got the speakers, the venue, and the framework for project success – all that's missing is you.
Sign up today at www.stonnington.vic.gov.au/environmentalchampions. Applications close Tuesday 21 February.
