Sellafield Ltd Earns Gold Recognition

The UK Government has named Sellafield Ltd as one of the winners that has been a powerful advocate for the Armed Forces Covenant.

Gold status is awarded to those who implement HR policies that accommodate the needs of the Armed Forces Community, while continuously promoting this advocacy within their own networks and industry. There's been a particular focus in recruiting for services personnel and are seen as being an employer of choice for this group.

The award also recognises our employee-led Armed Forces network's contribution in supporting new and existing employees through buddying, mental health support, and physical health support.

Paul Ritson, SFS Senior Engineering Delivery Manager, has been instrumental in bringing together the different elements of support the company offers for its Veteran and Reservist employees.

He said:

This is a great honour to have the recognition of the work we do across the organisation. We know that that many colleagues are using the skills they developed during their careers in the Armed Forces, and applying them to our mission at Sellafield.

We see the benefit to individuals, to Sellafield and to the country to being 'forces-friendly'. This highest award gives us the validation and will help when we talk to potential employees about what we do.
