The Programme and Project Partners (PPP) beat off strong competition from the Department of Work and Pensions and the Prison and Probation Service at the Government Project Delivery awards ceremony this week, to win the Diversity and Inclusion Award.
These awards are led by the Infrastructure Projects Authority and recognise excellent major project delivery across the UK.
Duncan Elliott, managing director for the PPP partnership said:
As a partnership made up of 4 large organisations along with our colleagues at Sellafield Ltd, creating an inclusive place to work is one of the most important things we can do to ensure everyone can perform at their best, while delivering some of the most complex infrastructure projects in the country.
I'm absolutely delighted that government has recognised this and would like to thank everyone involved in this success.
Laura Doughty, head of culture for the major projects client at Sellafield Ltd, said:
PPP was the first both in nuclear and for a partnership to achieve an accreditation last year for inclusion and this award is testament to all those in Team PPP and at Sellafield Ltd ensuring we live up to our promise to continually strive to be inclusive.
The judges praised the partnership for the work they have done to embed fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion and engagement across the partnership and for becoming the first in nuclear accredited by the National Centre for Diversity.
The Project Delivery Awards are a celebration of the inspirational individuals and teams who deliver complex and ambitious projects across government.
The awards provide an opportunity to recognise the innovation, leadership and resilience of project delivery professionals who have gone to unparalleled lengths to deliver projects that the country so vitally needs.
The Programme and Project Partners model was mobilised in 2019 with the purpose of transforming major project delivery at the Sellafield nuclear site.
The partnership brings together KBR, Jacobs, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, Altrad Babcock and Sellafield Ltd to deliver a 20-year pipeline of major infrastructure projects to support the decommissioning of Sellafield and to create a clean and safe environment for future generations.
