Seniors Festival 2024 Is Coming To Greater Shepparton

Victoria's largest Seniors Festival returns in October 2024 and Greater Shepparton City Council encourages and supports older residents to get involved.

From Tuesday 1 October until Thursday 31 October, a variety of events and social activities designed for older residents will be on offer as part of the state wide and local 2024 Seniors Festival Program.

This year's Festival theme of 'Explore. Engage. Evolve' encourages older Victorians to stay curious and connected by exploring new activities, meeting new people and changing how we think of ageing. Council is looking forward to celebrating the senior community through leading and partnering on a range of activities across Greater Shepparton.

Seniors represent 25 per cent of the Greater Shepparton population. They are recognised and valued for their wide range of skills and experience and their ongoing contribution to the region.

Council's Director Community, Louise Mitchell, encouraged seniors to join the celebration and participate in the activities taking place during the festival.

"Council has worked with local organisations, groups and businesses to develop the Greater Shepparton Seniors Festival Event Guide. The Guide features activities and events led by Council and community events funded through the Greater Shepparton Seniors Festival Grants Program," she said.

"The Seniors Festival provides an opportunity for older members of the community to connect with each other, services, groups and organisations that will contribute to their positive health and wellbeing beyond the Festival period."

The Greater Shepparton Seniors Festival Event Guide can be found at on Council's website.

A hard copy of the Guide can be collected from Greater Shepparton City Council's offices from Friday 27 September 2024. The Guide will be also distributed in partnership with the Shepparton News and the Shepparton Adviser in the week leading up to the Seniors Festival 2024.
