Eurobodalla Council's coordinator of community development Rhonnie South says The NSW Seniors Festival is the time the shire's over 60s can shine.
"We're hosting and supporting a variety of events during the festival, which runs from Monday 3 to Sunday 16 March," says Ms South.
"On Wednesday 12 March there's a free Seniors Tech Talk at the Bay Pavilions, with great information on digital devices, internet security, social media, fake news and more. And Eurobodalla Libraries have partnered with NSW Health to present talks on ageing with vitality, with helpful advice on diet, exercise and avoiding falls.
"Other events include a photographic exhibition, information on advanced care planning, and on Thursday 13 March a fun morning of short talks, tai chi and yoga, along with morning tea."
These events are free but most require bookings through the Seniors Festival page on Council's website.
Ms South says Council grants will help deliver five other free events across Eurobodalla this year; the Narooma Quota Club's wellbeing day, the Batemans Bay Historical Society session on native bees, the Batemans Bay Orchid and Foliage Society's floral art class, the Bodalla Men's Shed open day and the Gourmet Coast Trail's high tea.
"The Seniors Festival is about recognising and celebrating the contribution of older adults to local communities. There really is something for everyone during the two weeks, so look at what's on offer and get out there," says Ms South.
