- Older Queenslanders are encouraged to visit a Seniors Savings Pop-Up to find out more about available cost-of-living rebates and concessions

- The Miles Government is investing a record amount in concessions for Seniors Card holders and other eligible Queenslanders
Older Queenslanders are encouraged to find out how they can ease cost-of-living pressures and connect with local services and supports by visiting a Seniors Savings Pop-Up.
The popular initiative will appear in five shopping centres in coming weeks, from Yeppoon to Nambour, from 9am to 1pm at:
- Springwood Mall – Tuesday 27 August
- Redcliffe's Peninsula Fair Shopping Centre – Tuesday 3 September
- Yeppoon Central Shopping Centre – Thursday 5 September
- Maroochydore's Sunshine Plaza – Monday 9 September
- Nambour Plaza – Tuesday 10 September.
Pop-up events enable older people to meet face-to-face with a Government cards and concessions specialist to find out about potential savings and rebates, including the Queensland Seniors Card.
The Queensland Seniors Card delivers discounts on products and services at more than 7,000 business outlets across the state.
Cardholders can also access concessions on electricity and gas; vehicle and boat registration; public transport and long-distance rail; spectacles, dental and medical aids; fishing licence fees; and entry into museums and art galleries.
Older Queenslanders are already seeing cost-of-living relief, including an electricity rebate of up to $1,672 for eligible seniors, meaning most will not pay for electricity this financial year.
Fares across the public transport network have also been lowered to 50 cents for six months.
The Miles Government also hosts Seniors Expos to provide additional information about staying safe at home and in the community, as well as local supports and services for older people.
As stated by Minister for Seniors Charis Mullen:
"I want every single older Queenslander to know help is available to make their dollars go further.
"More than 600 older Queenslanders have already discovered cost-of-living tips and tricks this year, thanks to our popular Seniors Savings Pop-Ups.
"A Seniors Pop-Up is a great chance to chat face-to-face with a Miles Government representative.
"Seniors can find out what rebates and concessions they are eligible for and learn how to save money on a range of goods and services, including electricity, medical aids, public transport and vehicle registration."
