Our SENTRAL Youth Services team was thrilled to host Gerringong Public School's Year 6 students at our Youth Centre last week, marking the finale of their successful Pathfinders program.
This initiative is designed to support the critical transition from primary to high school, empowering young people with confidence, community connections and a sense of belonging as they prepare to embark on their new journey.
The Youth Centre was buzzing with the energy and excitement of more than 50 vibrant and enthusiastic 'pathfinders'.
The students fully embraced the opportunity to explore their future 'home away from home', participating in activities, learning about the programs available and building connections that will help make their high school transition smoother.
"It was so heartening to see the smiles and enthusiasm from every young person," Youth Community Development Officer Kayla Mulholland said.
"The feedback over the past two terms has been overwhelmingly positive, and it's wonderful to know that they now see this space as their own - a safe, welcoming environment for growth, fun, and support."
